Places to Sell Used Nappies

Since Ebay banned the sales of used, worn, pre-loved or second hand nappies I thought it might be a good idea to include a category where people can review other places to buy cheaper nappies or sell on nappies that are no longer needed.

Thought I would get the ball rolling and make a few recommendations.
UKParentsLounge has a great nappy buy and sell forum, it is very busy and there is a really wide choice of nappies for purchasers.
The sales forum has recently had a feedback type system added.
You have to register (free) to use the forum and have posted.
Quite usefully, you can be emailed when anyone leaves you a message about the nappies.

Nappy Lady Classifieds very busy with a reasonable selection available, mainly the mainstream nappies, tots bots Mother-ease etc...
Placing the ad is a bit complicated, because what you enter into the advert looks different when it is actually added to the webpage
Your email address is concealed, but only works for people with Outlook - i.e. not me.

Mumsnet For Sale section - not the busiest, for cloth nappies, but has one of the largest audiences and it might pick up now Ebay has stopped nappy sales.
If you choose not to leave your email address for contact, Mumsnet charges £5 for the Private messaging (CAT) system.

Sorry, I have to add to my confusing comment about the Nappy Lady.
What I meant to say was that there is an 'answer this post' type of facility, which, when clicked pops up and Outlook email form.
Fine if you have outlook set up.
However, you can give your email address in the text of the advert - which is not quite as secure as posting on a forum where you have a username and messaging system.

I sold some nappies recently on the Nappy Lady website. It was a damn sight easier than ebay and they all sold within a couple of days (one lot went within an hour of listing). So (blows raspberry) to ebay, who pulled my nappy listing few weeks ago.

www.thenappysite.co.uk is another new site that has popped up after ebay's decision to stop selling used nappies. It doesn't have a lot for sale yet, but it is becoming more popular.

I have just added a classifieds section to this blog. Please feel free to use this service to advertise your used nappies.
We have at least 60 visitors to this site per day - 1 of them might be interested in your nappies.

I would recommend placing ads in a few different places to get the best response.
Good luck!! :o)

Cloth nappy forums are also useful places to sell and buy pre-loved nappies. UKparentslounge and Cloth Nappy Addicts both have classified sections, although you do have to be a member to sell.

Someone has already mentioned www.thenappysite.co.uk, but just to say that I sold a load of nappies there quickly (some within a day, others took nearer a week). It's free, so one to try along with others. I'm pleased there's one on this site.

The Nappy Lady has withdrawn her service as she says she has had a number of problems with it.. ho hum, this isn't going to be easy I can see...

You can try www.usednappies.co.uk they seem very popular - I've had some success selling on there.

I've been buying a few nappies on Cloth Nappy Tree and been made very welcome the people on there. The popular stuff seems to sell pretty quickly.

I am an agent for Boocoo nappies ( a company local to Bristol) and I set up a blog a few months ago to try to pass on some of our ex-hire kit nappies and end-of-line stuff. I say 'pass on' because we really don't make much money at all on any of these nappies but it is a way of getting them into circulation and for enabling people to buy nappies cheaply. Which is why it's not a high-tech solution! It's a simple system, customers email requests for a nappy they want from the blog and we arrange payment and postage
.
Anyway, this was just to say that since we have built up quite an audience, we have recently started to sell on nappies for other people as well. It can be quite time-consuming process, so we do take 35% commission from the sale of the nappies. But most second hand baby shops take 50% so we figured that was reasonable.
So if anyone wants a hassle-free solution, we are quite happy to help.
www.boocoobargains.blogspot.com
We also try to offer some freebies, so if you just want to pass your nappies on to another cloth nappy user, feel free to get in touch.
