I bought the size 1 at the baby show in London when they were just being launched. I had intended to buy the fluffle but was told that the flexitot was going to be replacing them and that they had the same drying time (which was the most important factor to me as I don't have a tumble dryer).
In fact, the flexitot nappies are good when it comes to absorbancy but take at least 2 days to dry. The breathable fabric on the outside is good, although it still gets wet which is another thing they said would not happen.
The new style wraps that totsbots are selling don't have leg cuffs and I have found that on my baby that means I do have the occassional leak as there are gaps around the legs.
The sizing is also a little out as I've been using them for a month now on my newborn who is now 8 weeks old (she weighs 12 Ibs) and they definately won't fit her until 9 months old. They are getting tight now. I would recommend anyone who is thinking of buying these get the size 2 as i've since found out that they can be adjusted to make a b2p nappy.
All in all, i'd give them about a 7 out of 10.
Hope this is of use.
The inner padding is shedding from my flexitot, it takes a good 3 days to dry (no tumbler) and looks as though it should be an all in one not a nappy requiring a wrap.
The new style wraps are terribly leaky as my baby has slim legs and a small tummy.
Wouldn't waste the money frankly, over technical for a nappy.
Bought them as night nappies (using Bambino mio prefolds during the day)thinking that I would fall in love with them reading the description, but not quite so....
Not so absorbant, even with extra boosting, don't go through the night (went back to prefold with microfibre boosting and fleece liner for the night...)
The bamboo fleece fantastic when dry, but wet when wet...
the outside that is supposed to feel dry even when wet feels wet when wet....
However it feels reaaaaaaally confortable and soft, and very good containment for runny poos...
Not sure sure about the flexiwrap neither....miss the gussets
In the end will use them when going out (because better containment than the prefolds)but otherwise, will stick to my very versatile prefolds, even at night...
We have used Flexitots for about 7 months now. They worked well as nappies (good fit, absorbency and no leaks) but we have had major problems with durability. The pile on the first set of Flexitots started to disintegrate within 3 months, coating everything in the wash with fluff and leaving the nappies looking threadbare. The manufacturer replaced the nappies, but exactly the same problem has occurred with the second set. Totsbots claim that there was a manufacturing problem with earlier batches and they have relocated manufacture to the UK to solve this problem. However, we have decided to replace our Flexitots with something else instead of getting another set.
These nappies are very soft and feel lovely, but after 3 months are starting to pile. This means that I can't wash my other nappies with them as they coat them in fluff. They do fit well and are reasonably good at containing runny poos!
I treated my self to 2 sets of flexi tots, they looked and felt beautifully soft, although the outside resembles a football shirt! the sizing is awful, much smaller than other tots nappies, i did ring tots and tell them this, but said no one else had complained! they were lovely to use, no leaks etc,and i found the wraps really good, the material started to go thread bear after 3 months and they did not fit for much longer than this, used on my little one until just 18 mths(sz 2) and then i had to pass them on as not large enough, altogether, an expensive mistake!
