This is a new section, created because a lot of people ask which retailers make clothes that fit the slightly fuller and more attractive cloth bum.
Please leave a review for the places to shop, and types of clothing you recommend and those to avoid.

I thoroughly recommend CUT4CLOTH clothes. They may be a little more expensive, but I HONESTLY think they are well worth the price. I have two cotton suits and an all in one. The cotton is really thick and they have lasted through the crawling stage without a mark on the knees.
The trousers are definitely very roomy for even a thick cloth nappy
They do come out a little big, but thats fine for me, they will last years, they are so well made.
I recommend them to anyone!!

John Lewis have some lovely soft knitted cotton trousers in at the moment which fit over all our nappies. I think they have other items which looked goog but we haven't actually tried.
Ladybird at Woolworths do good babygros which are the right shape but on the small side so you just have to move up sizes a month earlier than you would otherwise.
I'm not sure about the manufacture of these in terms of ethical considerations but you can always look out for them second hand.
I have found that Marks and Spencers terry sleepsuits have a great cut for cloth - short legs and huge bums.
The same for Disney baby sleepsuits, which I have picked up from Tesco quite cheaply. Quite often the Disney baby ones are in a set, with a hat and matching bib or jacket so look quite nice for going out as well.
Vertbaudet - lovely, but I have found a lot of their dungarees too slim-cut for cloth, definately size up to get a decent fit.
I would say, in general, stretch knits are the way to go when babies are young. As they get a bit bigger, try to get those trousers with adjustable elastic in the waist so even jeans will go over a nappy.
I have found Mothercare sleepsuits far more roomey than many of the other highstreet retailers. My 6 week old is quite large for his age and has long feet and legs (and now a big bum thanks to his tots bots nappies). I have had to cut the feet off his other sleepsuits or resort to using the next size, all with the exception of the Mothercare outfits which fit him nicely.

I'd advise nightgowns for new borns then you have no worries about night time fit (expensive but worth it and you can get them from cut4cloth and I have some second hand ones from ebay that say mothercare but I've never seen them in the shop) no poppers to deal with in the middle of the night either
H&M trousers fit if they are the next size up but then they are generally always too long - safe bet is always dungarees which look lovely. Also GAP are always too slim at hips and bum.
Never had a problem with any clothes up till about 9 months but became more of an issue when sizing got further away and ds got mobile....
I havent bought any of the cut for cloth clothing but i find tescos the best, my largish 23lbs almost 10 month old can still fit in 6-9 month linin trousers from tescos with her cloth nappy on (prefolds and covers!)
i found osh kosh dungarees have generous bums.
Tesco's are fine but they do shrink if they're jersey. Not the best for quality, so maybe better for younger babes when they don't get as much use - the trousers ds is just growing out of are looking decidedly worse for wear...
H&M haven't tried trousers, but vests are a good shape - long and narrow. However, you do need to check the sizes in multipacks - we got a two pack and one was too small almost instantly, the other he's still wearing six months later!
Cut for cloth are lovely thick jersey, but expensive (fair trade organic though so to be expected) - Grandma bought the stuff we have from here!
We actually found Mothercare sleepsuits the worst size-wise, in both bum and leg length.
Have recently tried Next and Pumpkin Patch dungerees, which are both great over cloth. Their trousers are hopeless though, unless you go for the stretch jersey ones, and then there's not much room to grow.
Have had a similar problem with mothercare trousers - far too tight around the hips and waist, which is odd as they make their own cloth nappies of course.
www.cambridgebaby.co.uk have a category in their shop with "cloth nappy clothing".
They sell cut4cloth, but import also organic clothing from Germany and you can get lovely wool clothes there.
I've bought from there before and can recommend the shop.
Just to let you all know that Cut4Cloth has changed its name...we're now called Frugi. We've changed our name now that our range has expanded - we do much more than clothes to fit over cloth nappies now, with kids clothes up to 6 years and nursing wear for mothers. The Cut4Cloth collection is still there though...
I have cut4cloth/Frugi clothes and they are fabulous. Tinker Togs are also really good - their long sleeved vests & sleepsuits are perfect even over my huge, over-stuffed Minkis. Tinkertogs are a bit cheaper than Frugi but they aren't organic.
On the High street, M&S are good, especially their sleepsuits.
Cut4Cloth are now called Frugi and have a new website... but are still doing a cut for cloth range for babies - www.welovefrugi.com
I have found that fair trade / organic clothes tend to be made with bigger bottoms in mind! Lots of websites do them (see above) including mine: www.potemkin.eu
Cheers, Fliss
