Thought these were great when I got them first, they were the first cloth nappy I ever used, largely because they were better advertised than all the others, they reeled this non-clothie in! All the others I subseqently used, I found out about through other cloth users. However, although they fit ds well and keep everything contained they are a pain to launder. They take 80min to dry in a tumble drier, not therefore very environmentally friendly , somewhat missing the point of cloth nappies! Also I have found the outer layer has gone quite hard over time
I didn't get on with these. Leaked around the waist constantly, and I could never get a good fit around the waist or legs when we moved up to the toddler size.
Have tried the Kushies Ultra, it was quick and easy to use. On the other hand, it didn't fit around the legs very well, the plastic was a bit too angular to conform to a rounded baby limb.
They were a bit leaky after an hour and needed quite a bit of boosting.
Also took days to dry - I think that's the problem with all in ones.
Kooshies two parts are fab. They don't leak and fit under most wraps. Really cheap to buy 2nd hand to. DH like the ultras as easy to use adn he doesn't get wet!
the AIO was just not adjustable enough to get a leakproof fit and does take a while to dry, they are ok...I just think there are much better nappies
I used the Classics and found them OK. Very slim fitting and cute, but not very absorbant and not great on containment of bf poo.
Ok for short periods or for a change-bag spare.
Bought one Ultra because I was taken in by the blurb on someone's website. I wish I hadn't. Problems with fit, containment and took absolutely ages to dry. Still haven't got round to selling it but if I have used up all my other cloth nappies I'd rather use a disposable than this one again.
I like my 5 pack of Kushies Ultra as I make them up with a booster and fleece liner and keep them upstairs for 1st thing in the morning changes done by my other half before he goes to work! I have found them ok at containing bf poos, they are quick to put on and good enough if not left on too long.
bought about a dozen because they were going half price and have been very happy with them BUT: we only use them at home in the day, and then with a disposable booster (disposables for going out and at night). they do leak if you leave them on too long, but have been pretty good at containing poo. have a tumble drier and always dry them in that, does take a while but they're always nice and soft. size-wise ok, ds started wearing them at around 3 weeks / 4 kg and is still wearing them at 8 months / 9 kg but they're getting a bit small now so will have to move on. if i found them cheap again would buy the larger size, otherwise will look for something else just to try something new as generally we've been happy with our kooshies.
I had leaks, too, but DH finds them great. Must need a man's strength to pull them tight enough!!
Not bad as an occasional spare for days out.
I have the AIO and pocket ones and they are awful, my daughter who is 11 weeks can leak through one in less than an hour, they take AGES to dry and all in all pretty poor...there are MUCH better nappies out there on the market, i think lots of parents end up with these because they are available in shops...i think the shops should stock better quality nappies and maybe it would encourage more parents to use them!!
I have had no problems with our Kushies AIOs (Ultra) - they are quite generous in the sizing but we've not had any leaks yet although it's still early days (baby's almost 6 weeks), he's been wearing these since he weighed just over 10lbs and I guess because he has chunky legs they are a better fit than what most of these found with their children.
Besides the boring patterns and colorus they don't feel very nice to the touch. I tend to wash in the morning, put them on the line and if they are still damp when bought it at night then I'll leave them overnight on the radiator and they're dry by the next morning. I have other AIOs that I have to do the same with so not too bad I don't think.
I got a load of AIO for free - they worked OK but not great - leaky with BF poos. The design is based too much on a disp shape which doesn't seem to work too well. They take ages to dry and go really hard. Plus I personally think the patterns are hideous. I used them as emergency ones only, but now she's grown out of them I'm selling them apart from a couple I'm keeping for emergencies for child number 2.
Don't believe the hype!!!
I bought the Ultra for Dad and childminders to use. HOW DISAPPOINTING!! I heard such good reviews, but:
.They always leaked
.They were a poor fit at the waist and legs
.The insert attached at the back meant I couldn't fold it in front for a boy
.Even after 2 hours in a drier or 24hours on a line they were still wet
Given that you have to buy two sizes, it is far better economy to go for a one size pocket nappy like the Bumgenius - FAR BETTER!!!
I only have one of the AIO's and I don't like them very much. I have found the inside of the nappy goes very hard and a bit crunchy-not very comfy for baby! Also, the flap for putting in the insert is so thin I can barely get my hand in! And what are you meant to stuff it with? Luckily my daughter has outgrown it but number 2 is due very soon so I might keep it as an emergency nappy for her. Mind you, I would resort to prefolds/terries before having to use the kushies.
