I have the size 2 little lambs and it is difficult not to describe in terms of tots bots, as it is quite similar.
It is smaller than the size 2 tots, and fits more neatly. I would describe it as more of a day nappy, as the terry is not thick and it has a short pile.
I washes well and still looks very white, but does go stiff.
This is a good budget nappy that should last for at least one baby.
The aplix closures mean it can't really be adjusted for a newborn, so you would need small nappies as well - there is a size 1 little lambs.
Also, I can't see it going above 30lbs, so probably not for older toddlers.
It is a fairly low rise, so would fit most wraps.
After a year of moderate use, the hook side of the velcro actually lost half of its hooks, which meant the nappy didn't stay fastened. Still works apart from that, but looks pretty wornout.
This would probably last a couple of babies if the velcro were changed, but it wouldn't last in style, as it looks knackered already.
New style looks better than the old. The size 1 only fitted by DS to about 12lbs and the size 2 up to 25lbs. Would last 1 baby, possibly 2 - good budget buy, but wouldn't other buying many size 1's as they don't last long
New Little Lambs are a lot bigger than the old one's. The quality is far superior too. The free fleece liner is good and I've used it a lot. I only have the free sample from their website but I'm impressed.
I like this nappy. I think it's a very good budget nappy and will be great for new mums. I have a size two which has plenty of room for my 20 month old son, and I think they have fixed the aplix problem mentioned above because this aplix seems very strong! I've had no problems using this nappy at night either. The liner that came with it is the softest liner I've ever felt!
I ordered the sample size 1 from the website. The nappy, fleece liner and booster are all of good quality and work as well as my size 1 cotton tots bots. However, the wrap is teeny-tiny and did not fit my 12lb son.
These guys have just brought out a new Bamboo nappy - WOW!!!!! I bought one along with a Tots Bots Bamboozle to compare the two and the Little Lamb one is FAR SUPERIOR, much more fluffy and cuddly..worth a try but beware of bamboo if you want a quick drying nappy - not the quickest!!
I would agree with the comment about the new bamboo nappy. I was just about to order a set of the terry nappies, but spotted the bamboo ones on the site. I contacted Nick the owner and he sent me a sample. They are really soft even after a number of washes and having compared them with a friends bamboozle they are in a different league for softness. She is now going to order some size 2's for her son. They seem absorbant enough to me and I haven't had any leaks as yet, even with runny high volume breastfeeding poo! I have a birth to potty set so intend to use these all the way through
I now have a little lambs bamboo nappy and it is absolutely gorgeous. I have a wham-bamboo and a bamboozle but neither are as soft and silky as this nappy. Dare I say it but almost too nice to be pooped on!
i have a cotton terry one. it's lovely works really well. when i've sold some of the ones that i don't use as much i'll get more of these
these nappies were overall ok, some pros and cons
pro - cheap, look cute
con - wrap wicks badly at the leg - had to use tots bots and motherease wrap. edges of velcro were sharp and scratched our little ones legs if not put on perfectly, take while to dry around elastic.
too small. my son was too big when just 3 months old - he is on the 50 line of the growth chart, they didn't get much use
Im loving these, we much prefer them to the bamboozles which seem to be getting too small on my 25lbs 11 month old and yet the little lambs velcro on the size 2 is done right up!!
The elastic went on my size 1 little lambs very early on on all 20 (ebay buy so could have got seconds without knowing). That said, they still work really well with a booster in and still fit my 10 month old, so no need yet for the more bulky size 2s (booster all sewn in and larger). Forget the wraps though. They are really small and wick at the elastic. Little lambs work really well with motherease wraps. Despite the elastic going, I still love them. Have a couple of bamboo ones too and they keep their softness.
I have 2 little lamb micros and they are ok they fit well they dry quickly but are bulky and are quite small for a size 2 nappy. Absorbancy is alright. Worst thing is the fabric tends to attract grub they look really ugly with black bits all over them I really don't like the LL fleece liners I'm sure they aren't actually water repellant and they move around leaving them pointless at protecting the nappy from poops
I have size 1 in all three fabrics. the microfibre are rubbish. The bamboo are great as everyone says and the cotton do quite well too. I use them with a fleece liner to make it softer. I will be getting size 2 when the time comes.
I have been using 20 x Size 1 bamboos on my 5 month old daughter since she was 3 months. We love them. They are a great fit. She's heading towards the 20lbs mark soon, so we will move her in to the Size 2s.
The fabric is super absorbent and very soft. Contains the most explosive of poos. They wash very well and have remained stain-free even washing at 40 with eco balls.
Comes with bamboo liner and a fleece liner which is also lovely and soft next to baby's skin.
Takes about a day to dry. We do a wash every other day.
Good for night time - have purchased an extra pack of liners and use 3 plus the fleece, no leaks in the morning.
Also have one cotton terry, which is also very good. Slightly less soft and absorbent but dries quicker.
we have 10 cotton and 10 microfibre- the microfibre ones are MUCH better- much softer and quicker to dry. the cotton ones go stiff after about a month and take much longer to dry.
will definitely be moving to size 2 when the time comes- but may get a bamboo sample before ordering a full microfibre batch.
I use the LL pocket nappies... i LOVE them, Its a shame I'm not really planning on having another any time soon because I want to buy more just to own them. the bamboo inserts are amazing and because they are cheap you can order like 5 nappies and 10 booster changing them when the wee is overloaded but no Doo'Dooz I use them on my 3 year old at night with a booster and my 16 month old. the All in ones fit so great into their clothes there isnt much gap between their size and their age group. LOVE LOVE LOVE these
I have the ll bamboo size 1 and 2... Great nappy, super absorbent..but useless wraps, wicks allover , so I am on the hunt for new wraps for second baba to put over the bamboo ll
