have only tried the patterned ones and they wick after first wee. Cant therefore use them

I also had the print version, and yes cotton does wick a bit more than fleece or PUL. Apparently the solid colours are PUL and last much longer.
I did like the HH shape though, it fitted well and the legs were designed not to leave marks - the fleece is supposed to roll out. Like all pockets it dried fast.
I reckon it would be good for Summer, they look fab and worn alone any leaks would dry in the sun.

I love Happy Heinys! I have both the printed version and the solid colour one. They have the most successful pocket nappy I've used. They fit my slender dd very well and are not bulky. I have even used the printed version at night with no leaks!!! My DS is a very heavy wetter and stuffed with hemp these pocket nappies have to be the best all rounder

I've used Happy Heinys for my DD for a year and a half - the lst six months it's just been HH's alone with wonderoos. YOu can get some problems with wicking in later life ( ie after a year or so) or after massive wees especially in the gorgeous fabric prints. but I generally have no problem and they suit DD's shape well. My Son used the training pants as nightime pants for ages and he's a totally different shape

I think happy heinys are great! My 20 month old heavy wetter wears the solid colours for night time, about 12 hours and they never leak. Infact its the only night nappy thats worked for us.

These are my favourite pocket nappies by miles. The shape gives the best fit I've found on my tall and chunky ds. The large still gives a good fit at 29lb when all other larges have failed! I'd use them all the time if I could afford it!

I've only tried the solid colours but have had no wicking even overnight.

The HH stuffins are great hemp boosters as well, I use them all the time for stuffing and boosting just about anything!

Wonderful nappies, sizing is great, nice and high in the rise and good fit around the legs. Plain PUL works better than the laminated prints if you have a heavier wetter but highly recommended and Linda the original wahm who designed and made them is a lovely lady.

I do like my HH good high rise and slim fit when I stuff with a hemp prefold and booster. They only wick if I don't change them after about 21/2 hrs so we use them as nappies for changing into when out.

I find that as long as you roll out the fleece so it forms an edge around the leg, neither the solids nor the patterned ones wick. Rolling out the edges ensures that none of the stuffing is touching the inside seam, which in turn prevents wicking.

I much prefer the patterned Happy Heinys, the solids seem a bit 'sweaty' to me.

I think they're a lovely slim fitting nappy, although seemed a bit too slim at first as my babies are normally big-bummed Fairy terry babies :)

I'm happy with this nappy. My boy is a heavy wetter and I find they may wick at the legs so I just use a PUL cover with them. They wash well and dry quick.

I have 3 sized Happy Heinys (2 cotton outer, 1 PUL) and 1 btp Happy Heiny (PUL outer). I get on fine with all fabrics and both types and rarely get any leaks. This is a very user-friendly pocket nappy and would be ideal for Dads, Grandparents, and other carers. I bought mine specifically with my DH in mind as he just can't be doing with wraps or poppers. I have to say, even with the pretty prints available, I find these nappies boring. The velcro gets grey and tatty looking quite quickly. Sizing is generous though and they do the job.
