Motherease One Size

My son at 12 months in an unbleached Motherease Onesize. He is on the biggest set of poppers, but is still a bit small for them.

Way too bulky for my dd, even at 2yrs old :( she is a heavy wetter, but cant imagine any baby being able to go long without extra boosting (as well as the ME booster)

oops, should add it was bulky between the legs - the rest was fine.

Nice and slim, very well made. Easy to put on, and stays on. Need to boost heavily for overnight use otherwise good for a 2 or 3 hours in the day for my wee one.

Absorbancy was a bit of a joke for my heavy wetting ds. Well under an hour even with the attached booster. Also found it difficult to get a good fit with the poppers.

A great daytime nappy, I find these totally reliable and really adjustable allowing for a really good fit - this is the nappy I use the most.

I would definitely recommend these. We've been using these for 7 months now (since around 2 months)and think they're great. Have the popper version (and popper wraps). Started wondering at around 3 months if they were going to last the course to potty training as our chunky DS seemed to be expanding too much, but they seem absolutely fine - as we'd been told, the direction of growth starts to shift to length rather than girth so we haven't run out of poppers round his waist as we had feared! Definitely need a booster in at night. Haven't had any leakage disasters but occasional seepage at night - think probably due to him wriggling so the wrap slips a bit over the nappy (which then wicks) if not poppered on tight enough. Generally they last up to say 3 hours during the day.

We've been using these (the popper version) since our son came home from hospital. Great on containment (no poo explosions!) and great fit. We boost them at night and either use a Motherease wrap or a Tot Bots redrap and he lasts the night.

More expensive than some options, but I reckon they'll last. And very easy for childminder/babysitter to use too. Highly recommended.

No idea why they're so popular, they manage to be both non-absorbent, quite slow-drying and a crap fit for newborns and chunkier kids. Oh, and they stain more than anything else I know of. I only ever stick one on ds2 when he only needs a nappy for an hour or two, they won't go any longer than that. And they are quite ugly too, at least Sandys are cute.

Found they bulky to use on a newborn - 6mth old, struggled with the poppers in the right places, rubbish fitting, not very absorbant, slow to dry, only in bleached white and just not my cup of tea really.

I love my MEOs & have used them since 7 weeks. They fit well and have never leaked despite some mighty poo explosions.

I think this is quite a nice cute nappy to look at and is fairly easy to use.
I do think it's a bit of a con to call it a birth to potty, as it's too big for a newborn - so you will still need 20 odd little nappies for a couple of months.
Even on the smallest popper setting they will be very bulky for a while.
I have the same problem with most birth to potty nappies, in that they are a compromise on fit and are usually not too good when changing from one set of poppers to another.
At 12 months the small set of poppers were too little for ds and the big set left him with gaping legholes - not good for containment.
A lot of bigger babies grow out of this nappy earlier than potty training and of course potty training age varies a lot too. So birth to potty - I don't think so.
The fabric is soft and it is a well made nappy. The absorbency, with the poppered booster is average and it is ok for up to 3 hours daytime.
Not sufficient for nights on our average wetter.

I really like this as a good basic nappy. It fits my girl 7kgs well both in the fold-down front version and at night with a snap in liner I can even put it on her without folding the front down. And with an extra booster between the snapin and the nappy it will even stay reasonably dry. Without the snap-in I don't think it is absorbant enough but I really like the fit and I can even use them on my son who is around 15,5 kgs and tall and thin-shaped. I put them in the second popper in both sides and have used it boosted with snapin and hemp-booster as a night-nappy for my son without leaks.
I think these are good diapers but not particularly cute. I think they make good every-day nappies. They are relieable, wellfitting and soft even in our hard water. My son really likes to wear them. Recommended to try.

Tried the Motherease One Size again, at 15 months and still find the fit around the legs less than perfect. Not a good choice if your baby has loose bowel movements, straight out of the leg.
I think it would be a good choice for very big thighed babies, as the legs holes are bit at most settings and it wouldn't mark the skin.
The nappy lasts around 2 hours on my ds and is pretty wet at that point. For a heavy wetter I wouldn't say this is a great option, as for the same bulk you can get a hemp nappy that lasts much longer if you need.
It's a cute nappy though, nice and soft and looks sweet, but just can't get it to fit as well as my multi-sized nappies and once you had a good fit it's hard to accept anything less.

Tried when DS (runt-size toddler, too) was around 15-18m; not absorbent enough. Could not fathom how it was supposed to still fit him at 2-2.5 yo.

I absolutley love these. Currently trialing about 8 different nappies including bamboozle, tots bots, sandys and others, and have found these the best. I have had no leaks during day or overnight with my 11 month old daughter. They are also the best fitting nappy- i can fit all her clothes over them and they do not feel bulky at all. I do not think they look boring- I think they are quite cute looking. It's the wrap that makes a nappy look exciting!!

Our baby was 8"14 when born and he has worn them since day 2. They make buying close dificult as they are buly under the crutch.

Very reliable and at 6 months just one leak to date. The stay dry liner stays soft even when just line dried.

I love my MEOS. At night I stuff a couple of microfibre cloths under the snap-in booster, which makes them great for night-time wetting, therefore don't have issues with absorbancy.

During the day they fit snugly under clothes, poppers easily, fairly quick-drying, and look good. Recommend the organic version, creamy coloured and extra soft, if you want to shell out!

Again a very reliable nappy, although not overly fashionable, and one which I rate highly.

Ok, but need boosting overnight. Prefer Onelife as they dry quicker and fit better. Tend not to use these overnight if I can help it - firm convert to the new softee for then!

Apparently there will be a bamboo Mother-ease Onesize available from June 2007 (and a Sandy's).

we have been using meos for 6 weeks, baby weighs 10 lbs.

fit- not great, come down to his knees so he can't draw his legs up well to pass wind...also so bulky, he doesn't sit comfortably in car seat

absorbency - ok, don't leak, but waist area really wet when we change him every two hours, using one booster folded in 3 at front.

drying time - seem fine.

appearance - very bulky. problem as baby grows don't fit at waist, ones that are big enough are too long at the leg. we use disposables at night, so needs a complete change cos then whole baby grow is huge!

thinking of selling them on,good resale value, getting some cheapy little lambs til he grows out of them - which won't be long! i can continue my search then!

I like my motherease although I didn't use it until DS was about 2 months as it did seem a bit bulky before that. It is a very reliable nappy and I have not had a leak yet (using it with a tots bots wrap or rikki wrap). It is one of the quickest to dry nappies I own and has stayed nice looking. For all of those reasons I should be raving about this nappy but I just can't muster much enthusiasm for it. Why? I think I just find it a bit boring - soz! :)

Motherease onesize was not a favourite initially because it required boosting, but now, after about 4 months of trying various different brands, I understand why it is such a favourite brand.

If you compare it to other cloth nappies, MEOS is made from one of the softest kind of terry. The elastication at the legs is also among the gentlest. I think these two points are enough for me to think of buying a few more MEOS nappies should I need to.

I have really enjoyed using these nappies although they do have their problems. They're not a great fit for newborns and I used eco-disposables for the first couple of months but once I swopped I was really impressed! They do need lots of boosting at night - mine were leaking every night until I tried popping a towelling/fleece wipe (mine were from babykind I think) just in the back between the nappy and the wrap. They haven't leaked since!

I now have the motherease bamboo and it is really soft, silky and slim fitting. I have tried it on DS once and it seems as absorbent as our cloth motherease. With more washes it should become more absorbent still.

This was the first nappy I tried and I think it is OK, but probably a bit overhyped. I was advised by a few people to try this and have found the fit a bit loose and poppers quite tricky.
We can't get a good fit on the medium poppers, but the large size is just too high and baggy fitting.
On the plus side, the nappy dries fast, especially because the booster comes out, also the fabric is nice and it washed really beautifully.
The absorbency is OK, but I find my baby beehinds onesize is better and fits better.

these are ok but I think a bit too overhyped as some said... widely available in the UK though.

I bought 2 second-hand Organic cotton ones and they are nice used at home if nothing else is dry :) but I would never put them on my baby boy when going out... way to wide between the legs and a bit bulky. Takes a bit long to dry too even though to booster comes out.
Easy fitting though and good as it's B2P
