Any comments to add?
Love em, brilliant for day and night will always go for this over anything else.
Nippa size one ajust very well for newborns.
Good containment with any wrap even one without a double gusset.
I had seen great reviews of these and was just a tad disappointed with the reality. I got the applix in size one and have to say the fit is still very good on 16lb ds. I do find they get quite wet and need a good wrap. Another downside for me personally is that it looks so good on, that I forget to put the wrap on which is a disaster but that's probably just me, hopefully the rest of you are smarter!
These are very cute terry nappies. I have found the sizing to be pretty accurate, and find the nappies are cut fairly generously, with long arms or wings. They make an excellent night nappy and used with one booster last my ds - a medium wetter - a good 12 hours. I use mine with a wool wrap, which adds to the absorbancy.
I haven't tried the size 1, or 3 so won't comment, but I have both aplix and nippa versions of the size 2 - which I think fits the widest range.
Price wise Tots are a mid priced nappy, you can get slightly cheaper fitted nappies, or pay another 30% or more for a pocket nappy or hemp.
I wouldn't recommend the size 2 as a birth to potty nappy, as it is stupidly big on a newborn and for the first few months.
As a day nappy, again it is a bit bulky, as you don't need the nappy to last more than three or four hours, it is overkill. Good for long journeys or shopping trips in terms of reliability.
All terry nappies get a bit crusty, and need to be tumbled for ten minutes or hung out on a super-windy day.
The nippa version fits better than the aplix, but I still think the aplix version, looks better fitted. I think it's the shorter arms and the aplix makes the nappy more robust.
One of the main faults of this nappy that I have found is the elastic goes after about a year's medium usage (20 nappies in rotation on one baby).
The other problem I found was it takes a day and a half to dry, which means you either need a lot of nappies, some cheaper nappies to supplement, or a tumble drier on overdrive.
For me the tots are great, but I wouldn't use them exclusively, because of the cons. I think they have their place as a good absorbent, cute nappy.
No idea why people like these so much as they take ages to try, are incredibly bulky and the applix and elastic need replacing within one babys 'use'
I guess they are absorbant - but I wouldn't use them again or recommend them.
Great nappie's for my heavy wetter. So what, they're a bit bulky. That just meant bigger trousers. They were great for through the night.
Not all that they're cracked up to be IMO. Take ages to dry, not versatile, wouldn't recommend them or buy them again.
Best nappy around for absorbancy and they look really cute on, a very traditional cloth nappy shape! One of the best things about this nappy is that you can put one on your baby before going out shopping and guarantee that she won't need a change before you get back. The colours are fab and they also take dye really well if you fancy a change of colour! Only downside is that they are very bulky.
I do like these, not bad on absorbancy, especially the unbleached ones, and I personally didn't find them too bulky. The rainbow ones are nice for short period daytime use and are a bit less bulky.
However ds has completely outgrown the size 2 at 28lb (11 months), both in rise and girth, so definitely not birth to potty for us! Size 3 are pretty absorbant though, and we do like these.
I prefer the Bumble as it is more versatile, quicker drying and fleece-lined, and fits a slightly larger weight range.
Great absorbancy, but take too long to dry. Also very bulky when on and seem a small fit.
Good for night time use but you need a fleece liner to avoid a soggy bum!!
Loved the texture and the look. Absorbancy was good too. BUT they were too low in the rise for my tall skinny boy (50th centile for weight and 91st centile for height) 22lb. Pooh came all the way round and out the top - not good for morale!
hi
i've used these and have found them excellent - never any problems. ok take a wee while to dry but never really found that an issue to be honest.
good all round as far as we are concerned.
I really wanted these nappies to work for us as they look so cute. Tried the smallest aplix and the rainbow birth to potty on my 6 week old but had to take them off as they were so bulky, he looked deformed and couldn't kick his legs about. Shame.
Did not like it. The one I have don't fit well. It is difficult to get the loose liner to stay put and it is too short. Or my little girl is too tall.

I wrote the above comment. I must say my Tots Bots diaper has grown on me. When I wrote that comment I had only been using my Tots for a few times. But now I have learned to put it on more low and when I do that it actually fits my girl pretty well. She is 5 months/15 lbs. However I cannot imagine that it will fit for much longer even though it is a size 2 because of the low rise. I was curious about the non-aplix Tots - and found them to be much better than the aplix ones. The fit is better. It seems to be higher in the rise and the diaper seems somewhat softer - probably because there is no stiff aplix. I actually like my new Nappi-Nippa-closing Tots alot.. It is pretty absorbant, quick to dry (we use dryer) and a high cute-factor :-)
I would definately not use this as the only kind of diaper in my stock, but I like it.. Not sure it is worth the money if my daughter outgrows it soon anyway though..
I bought a Size 2 Tots Bot when they were still relatively new, and I think sizing may have changed slightly. I think about 5 years ago, it wasn't promoted as a birth-to-potty nappy then. Aplix fitting. Have used on 3 babes/tots, all on the skinny side, two were small for age & one is average-size/height.
It's always been a great nappy for me and still in good nick (but with a vast nappy collection, it hasn't been heavily used). I radiator dry, though, carefully protecting the applix. They need a "bulky" wrap (eg, ME, not a slimmer wrap). At least it doesn't need boosting to go 3-4 hours (unlike my slim-line bumhuggers).
I use these as DS's main day nappy, and I like them a lot. They can get pretty wet after 4 hours during the day, but usually don't leak if under a ME airflow wrap. (I found that the tots wraps were pants, though, no pun intended.)
We use white size ones and have about 20. They take a long time to dry but nowhere near as long as the bamboozles. They look cute, but the main important factor is that they contain DS's poo.
You just can't beat tots can you? Absorbant if a little bulky, but best buy!
i didnt like these when i first tried them but they have really grown on me. i thought they were really bulky (which they are) but the fact is theyare really absorbant and sooo cute, its a shame to cover them up. i only use 4 in rotation with a huge variety of other nappies but when dd is ready for size 2 ill defnitly be getting some again.
The most absorbant ones we have - they last up to 4 hours on DS when others leak in 2-3.
I love the size 1's inbuilt fleece liner as so soft :-)
I have the nippa version of these and find them very good, a lot less bulky than the aplix version.
I wouldn't say they are the slimmest of nappy, but they do look very cute and keep everything in very well.
Not surprised they are the best seller.
Very pleased with my totsbots, especially with the original cotton tots which has a very rich terry fabric. I mainly use it at nighttimes. The rainbow tots is better suited for daytimes, but I have other nappies I prefer as it is relatively slow drying and becomes a little hard in the washing.
I haver the unbleached nippa tots bots (size 2) and its such an absorbant nappy, great for night-time wetting, car journeys, and great for containing breastfed poos!
It doesn't dry as slowly as the bamboo version, although I have to tumble it sometimes to make it soft again ( I live in a hard water area).
I would say it comes up a little small and can not see it lasting through to the weight range it states.
I really like these, they are very reliable. Yes, they're a bit plain and not very exciting but they do the job very well. I prefer the non-aplix ones as my ds has slimmed down since he started walking and the aplix tabs aren't cross-over so I can't get them quite tight enough at the minute. They last ages during the day and are good boosted at night. Don't think I'd try them on a newborn as they look much too bulky, but they'd probably be pretty good over 10lbs.
I have some of the rainbow bot nappies, one is aplix and the others are nippa.
I think the nippa version is one of my favourites as it is very slim fitting and dries quite fast. It fits well round the legs.
The only downside is the absorbency, it is less absorbent than the thicker white tots bots, but fine with a microfibre towel added.
The other downside is that I sometimes have trouble making the nippa the right tightness. On a bay day I can either do it too loose and have a leak, or too tight and mark my little girls legs.
I love my size 1 cotton tots bots and find them to be really absorbent. My only complaint is that they are a little small and I can't imagine them lasting until my son is 6 months. In fact at 13lbs he has just begun to require an additional booster for extra absorbency but once I add a booster to this nappy it becomes a very tight fit on him indeed. Having said that I will be ordering the size 2 in future as they are such a good quality, easy to use nappy.
had one size 1 aplix and wasn't really sure - took ages to dry and went very hard drying it on the line.
Then got the size 2 nippa version, and these have become my favourite nappy - extremely reliable with containment and don't take any longer to dry than any other shaped nappies. Have now got a tumble dryer though so don't have the crispiness problem. I'd class them as daytime nappies, but have used them occasionally for night with a terry between the nappy and the wrap.
I'm not overwhelmed with these - they fit well and the colours are quite nice. I prefer the nippa version as they are easier to adjust. A fairly standard nappy.
